May 31 — Build Up by Prophecy

1 Corinthians 14:1–5

This Sunday, we continue our Build Up series by looking at why Paul tells the church to “pursue love” and “desire spiritual gifts, especially prophecy.”

Prophecy is not given to impress the room; it is given to build the room. Paul says prophecy strengthens, encourages, and comforts the church. It builds structure where people feel weak, brings courage where people feel stuck, and speaks comfort where people feel wounded.

At LifeHouse, we want to grow as a people who are not afraid of the gifts, but also not careless with the gifts. Love must lead. Prophecy must build. And Jesus must remain the center.

Big idea: When the Spirit speaks through love, the house gets stronger.
